By working together with local and city organizations, government officials and residents, we assist in establishing public/private partnerships for revitalization of local communities. Projects such as the creation of new affordable housing, encouraging the rehabilition of existing housing stock, pioneering educational initiatives, creating marketing initiatives to encourage new businesses to establish themselves in local neighbourhoods and creating safer neighborhood initiatives.
We believe that bricks-and-mortar development alone cannot revitalize distressed communities and that more comprehensive approaches are necessary. Community revitalization must move beyond the realm of exclusively improving housing conditions and increasing home ownership. Community development should include programs that increase residents' capacity to make economic contributions to the community by supporting entrepreneurs, providing job training, and facilitating transportation and child care. These efforts combined with an increasing corporate investment in underserved communities will make long term community revitalization a reality.
